2026 Enhanced

Deluxe Galaga 2026 Enhanced is a significant update to the classic Amiga shooter - wider screen, a redesigned HUD, new power-ups, a new skull reward system, and a full new voice pack recorded by RetroGaming Radio's Shane R. Monroe.

16×9 play with new detailed hud

The Enhanced version runs at full 16×9 widescreen - no pillarboxing, no stretching. The play field expands to fill the screen while the new HUD uses the reclaimed space intelligently.

The redesigned HUD keeps everything visible at a glance without cluttering the action:

  • Live weapon level and active power-up stack
  • Ship speed and Damage indicators alongside classic shields
  • Timer countdown timers visible
  • Skull inventory tracking in the status bar

Missiles

Missiles

A new catch-only weapon that fires homing missiles alongside your primary weapon. Missiles track the nearest alien independently, adding a second damage vector without replacing your current loadout. Stackable with Extra Bullet for maximum chaos.

Damage

Damage

Increases the damage output of your current weapon without changing its fire pattern. Stacks across multiple pickups. Especially effective on slower weapons like Fireballs and War Plasma, turning them into genuine boss-killers at high Damage levels.

1 new secret

The Enhanced version introduces one additional secret beyond the original 14. See the Secrets page for the full list - Secret #15 is exclusive to the Enhanced version.

skull continue system

Skulls have been completely reworked in the Enhanced version. Beyond their original penalty mechanic, skulls now interact with each other to unlock special weapons and upgrade your Continues.

Different combinations of red, blue, and green skulls yield different rewards. Collecting the right combination is the key to unlocking the Enhanced version's most powerful weapons and building a stockpile of upgraded lives.

  • Skull inventory tracked in the HUD at all times
  • Combinations trigger on the next catch after the set is complete
  • Upgraded Continues preserve more of your power-up stack on death
